Groblersdal is located on the Limpopo side of the border between Limpopo and Mpumalanga. It is ± 170 km south of Pholokwane; 80 km North of Middelburg and 107 km East of Bronkhorstspruit. Distances from other cities:  160 km from Pretoria; 150 km from Witbank; 250 km from Nelspruit. The road between Groblersdal and Bronkhorspruit on the way to Pretoria, has safety warnings and is under construction.  Therefore, general precautionary measures should be taken.  From Gauteng, you may consider to use the N4 to Middelburg turning North on the N11 to Groblersdal.

Summer temperature (September to February) ranges from 30° C and 40° C.  Winter reaches a high of 22° C. 

Groblersdal has various sport clubs and facilities including rugby, bowling, tennis, golf, cricket, a hockey club and two gymnasiums.  The gymnasiums provide aerobic classes, water aerobics, and have facilities for weight lifting, circuit training and spinning.  Saunas and sun beds are also available at the mentioned gymnasiums.  The "Lemoenbloeisel" Marathon is an annual sports attraction in this area.

Aventura Loskop Dam is about 40 km from Groblersdal offering great fishing and boating opportunities. There are a number of nature reserves that offers nature drives, a crocodile farm and an ostrich farm are also located in the vicinity.  El Palmar Guesthouse will gladly assist you with reservations to visit these.
